I've just spent the most extraordinary weekend in the company of thirteen extraordinary women.

Convened by Women's Funding Alliance, we strategized and explored strategies for making a difference in our world, often through support and empowerment of women and girls.

Women's Funding Alliance believes, and I agree, that strategically supporting organizations that promote progressive change for women and girls, has a dramatic impact on the overall health of our community.

When women and girls thrive, the entire community benefits.

In other words, Women's Funding Alliance works with and for other non-profits to, together, create a safety net for us all, through the efforts of women and girls. The women who came together this weekend are the sorts of women who think about such things, roll up their sleeves to take action for social change, and challenge themselves and each other to keep up the effort.

Justice, health and opportunity for women and girls.

This translates into a healthier community, regardless of where we live. When women are safe, educated, and have economic opportunity, they tend to see to extending these benefits throughout their areas. They weave safety nets for themselves, their families, and those associated with them. It's powerful. And I was inspired.
