The Independent Elderly - Tips for Caring Family & Friends
Relta Gray, who passed away in 2009, entered the world of publishing in 1947, as a wife and working women. In 1976, at the age of 60, she opened Relta Gray Associates, a public relations agency, which she led for nearly 30 years. Although she "formally" retired at 88, she continued to write and stay active up to her death.
In The Independent Elderly: Tips for Caring Family & Friends, Relta uses her common-sense style tp provide a first-person perspective as to what it means to be elderly and indepedent today. Her words stem out of her own challenges in growing older and finding ways to remain independent, as well as in guiding the friends and familly around her in how they can help. Through her writing, Relta talks plainly about what it means to actively care about, rather than simply providing care, for older friends and family members.
